Therapy for you in pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood.

Be seen. Be heard. You are not alone.

I help women on their journey to and through motherhood feel confident, grounded, and present in their lives without fear, overwhelm, and guilt.

My clients struggle as you do. Despite being insightful, dedicated, intelligent, compassionate, creative, and quite accomplished at appearing in control, life is hard.

Like my clients, you deserve to breathe freely and trust your ability and instincts as a mother.

Clarity of mind and connection with yourself and your baby is not out of your reach.

If you want to feel centered and aware of your thoughts and emotions rather than controlled by them, I’d love to help you get there.

Hi, I’m Sarah O’Donnell LISW, PMH-C.

A therapist, a mom of two, and a book lover to the core

I am so happy that you are here, and am proud of you for taking this step in looking for support. Motherhood - and the journey to it - can be an unexpected masterclass in vulnerability and the unknown, but you are not alone. Let’s work through this together.

My practice is based in Powell, Ohio – serving in-person clients from my office at 271 S Liberty St, and supporting clients across the state of Ohio via secure telehealth platform.

When my clients first come in, they feel the endless pressure to do better, be better, do more. Feeling overwhelmed by comparison traps lurking on social media feeds, in the mouths of friends and family, in playgroups and waiting rooms, all sending wildly different messages of what motherhood is supposed to look and feel like.

They feel controlled and weighed down by unwanted and scary thoughts that seem to strike out of nowhere, leaving them feeling scared, alone, and overwhelmed. They find themselves rehearsing every possible scenario and outcome with the belief that this can prepare them for anything and everything.

They are the masters of masquerade. The front of composure and control is worn like armor, but the illusion is draining and leaves them feeling so alone.

Their anxiety gets in the way of the life they want in so many ways. They aren’t the kind of mother that they want to be. They feel like they’re failing as a partner and friend. And their confidence in every day decision making is tanking.

Before they came to see me, they feared that they would have to accept this as their new normal. They worried that their thoughts were true and that somehow they were broken. And they were pretty certain that they were alone in this experience.

Reach out now. You are not alone. I can help.

“One of the worst parts about the symptoms of postpartum depression and anxiety is that they don’t feel like symptoms. They feel like who you are.”

— Karen Kleiman

Sonder Psychotherapy LLC is named for the realization that all human beings are living a life as vivid and complex as our own. I love this concept, and it is central to my practice.

Your journey is your own. Your history is unique. Your story is important. And you are not alone. Let’s work through this together.
